Reconnecting with the past

Life as missionaries is challenging, often incredible, although many times quite complex. In our case, we belong to different countries and cultures. Right now we have been living in England for 5 years already. Although Holland is a home country for us, Brazil just might be that a little more. It’s not only the place where Johanneke grew up, but it’s also where our girls have spent most of their lives so far.
This summer we have the opportunity to go back and visit Brazil for the first time since our move. We will be equipping people through giving seminars in our field of expertise, storytelling and documentary style filmmaking. This is a great chance to spread the good news and to encourage missionaries that work with media.
It will be a wonderful combination of a time to serve, but also a time to reconnect with family and friends. A time for our girls to better process their past and our move to England.

We have prayed a lot about this, it is something that has been on our hearts for a long time. But this step is of course a really challenging one, when we looked at the tickets prices we were shocked, a total of £6000 pounds! But even with this, we believe it’s the right thing to do, this is what God has for us now. We want to take this step in faith. Would you join us in this challenge?
